A facebook comment this evening made me sorta think about kids and candy...that, and its also Halloween.
My cousin jokingly poked fun at my aunt for handing out fruit snacks and raisins to kids trick-or-treating tonight. Of course all comments were up in arms about how Halloween is for candy and blah blah blah. Well, here is a thought though - what holiday isn't about indulging?
The thing is there are mass produced holidays all times of year. It starts with Valentines day, then Easter, then Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas, then New Years, then the kid's birthday, moms birthday, dad's birthday, brothers birthday, sisters birthday, and other randomly selected special occasions that warrant the baking of a dessert.
If you can't teach your kids about responsible eating on Halloween why would you teach them any other day of the year?
