My activities on September 4th consisted primarily of this:
Yep, that was my view from about 10:30am until around 4pm or so. My mom and I went down and rented a little shade tent and some chairs for about $12,000 pesos ($7). I took a quick dip in the water, sat my butt in the chair and didn't move too much after that point. I went swimming a few times, took a quick walk down the beach and alternated between sitting in the sun and sitting in the shade. I even had a few beers. It was rough day.
Not too shabby for a street beach, right? This is the beach located across the street from my parents apartment. I mean, the waters aren't crystal...once you get about chest deep you can't really see your feet; since the sand is brown it clouds the water a bit. Still, no complaints, it was blue and pretty and provided for a very nice lazy Sunday.
While I was watching the pelicans and seagulls dive bomb what I can only assume was a school of fish in the water my dad and I got chatted up by some older German men. While I generally enjoy talking to other travelers I wasn't quite in the mood for it and just wanted to read my book...they didn't get the hint. Still the guy was interesting enough...said he'd been to 40 of the 50 US states and his favorites were South Dakota and Louisiana (for the food and people - I had to ask...its such a swamp-land). I guess he sails everywhere. At any rate, about the time where I stopped being a part of a conversation and was just listening to story after story...we decided to leave and head back to the apartment.
It was very Spanish-esque. We had lunch at 4pm, napped until about 5:30 or 6, walked to have dinner at Akle (an Arabic restaurant), watched a movie then went to bed around 11 or so.
