There is really nothing like the feeling of being completely exhausted from the water and sun. Even if you do absolutely nothing but sunbathe and swim you're still tired at the end of the day...its great. You get that feeling when your skin is kind of tight and dried out from the sun and sunscreen. Your hair is in shambles, your filthy dirty and you don't even care, in fact, you like it because it makes the shower feel that much better. And you could just turn over go to sleep, not because you're lazy but because you earned it with your nice sunny day.
Fortunately, there is more to my exhaustion than that. I have, and count them, 13 + bruises on my legs, at least 2 cuts, my arm muscles are sore and my nose has a very attractive bump on it. I wish I could say they were from doing wonderfully exciting things but the truth is only some of the injuries were "earned". Jumping off a cliff into a lake and missing a pile of rocks by about a foot was the stupidest thing I did but it wasn't the cause of any injury unless you count the numerous children who heard me scream curses as I resurfaced. I don't think I handle adrenaline rushes well :) Some of the bruises were caused by dogs trying to climb up my legs to get back into the boat, the others were from water skiing and the last remaining ones are from trying to kick my dog back a few feet so I could lay down a towel for him in the car (suffice it to say I missed and hit the car door...bloody karma).
All in all though, laying around on a boat swimming and being a total dumb ass is what summer is all about and it feels so good to be able to go be an idiot for a weekend. Days like that make the responsibility of summer school and two jobs a lot more tolerable. I love the taste of a cold margarita, the sound of live music and the smell of lake water, dried sweat and sunscreen at the end of the day. Ahhhmazing.
I love the sun...glad you had an amazing time...my spirit was watching out over Nicky...Karma is right
